This book is by Betty Judge and was written in 1999. Betty knows loads about Border Terriers and bred lots of my great-great-great, great-great and great grandparents! How about that?

On amazon marketplace you can pick this book up second hand for less than £2! Thats a bargain!

Border Terrier (Pet Love)

This book provides the much needed factual information about the Border Terrier and its ancestry, character and standard, as well as the proper selection, feeding, training, preventative health care and behaviour of the breed. The new owner will welcome advice about puppy-proofing the home. Preparing for the pup's arrival and preventing puppy problems. In addition to an extremely authoritative text, this book presents over 135 photographs in full colour, which prove to be as informative as they are attractive. Helpful hints and important information are highlighted to provide easy access to everything the reader needs to know about life with a Border Terrier.

It was written by Penelope Ruggles-Smythe in 2000 and you can pick it up on amazon marketplace for around £7.00, which is quite good value.

Border Terrier and Butterfly..

I have this print by Bridget Olerenshaw hanging over my bed-crate. It was made in the 1960's and illustrated Border Terriers in a book about dogs.

Bridget, who lost her fight against cancer on 30th October 1989, was one of the top canine artists in the country. She began specialising in canine portraits in 1958 , Border Terriers being one of the breeds she painted. She was commissioned by Country Life to paint the front covers for several Crufts editions of their magazine; had illustrated editions of Country Life Book of Dogs, and had completed commissions for many well-known firms. As well as local galleries in her own area, exhibitions of Bridget's work were also seen at Crufts and at the Tryon Gallery in London.

Had to go to the vets, had some tests and a jab. Turns out I had a Clostridia infection, probably caught from some dodgy shellfish on the beach... So be warned.... keep off the cockles!




Feel great today though!
